Itinerary

Day 1: Gateway to the Hills – Guwahati to Shillong

Arrive at Guwahati, where our Tour Manager warmly receives the group and assists with the onward drive to Shillong. Often referred to as the “Scotland of the East,” Shillong welcomes visitors with rolling hills, misty landscapes, and a soothing climate.
En route, guests may stop for lunch at a local restaurant (at own expense). On arrival in Shillong, check in to the hotel and spend the remainder of the day resting and acclimatising to the hill environment.

Day 2: Crystal Waters & Cleanest Village – Dawki & Mawlynnong

After breakfast, set out for a relaxed excursion to Dawki, nestled near the India–Bangladesh border. The highlight here is the stunning Umngot River, famous for its exceptionally clear waters, where boats appear to float on glass.
Continue onwards to Mawlynnong, celebrated as Asia’s cleanest village. This beautifully maintained hamlet, often called “God’s Own Garden,” offers charming pathways, flowering balconies, and a strong sense of community pride. A packed lunch is provided en route. By evening, return to Shillong for a relaxed night.

Day 3: Sacred Groves & Misty Landscapes – Shillong to Cherrapunjee

After breakfast, check out and proceed towards Cherrapunjee, renowned as one of the wettest places on Earth. En route, visit the mystical Mawphlang Sacred Forest, protected by ancient tribal traditions where nothing—not even a leaf—is allowed to be removed.
After lunch at a local restaurant (at own expense), arrive in Cherrapunjee and check in to the hotel. Later, those comfortable with short walks may opt for a guided visit to Mawsmai Cave, a well-lit limestone cave offering a fascinating glimpse into Meghalaya’s natural formations.

Day 4: Waterfalls & Living Wonders – Cherrapunjee at Leisure

After breakfast, the day is kept flexible to suit individual comfort levels. Guests may relax and enjoy the serene surroundings of the “Abode of Clouds.” Those who are physically fit and interested may opt (optional) for a trek to the legendary Double Decker Living Root Bridge, a remarkable example of nature and human ingenuity.
Post lunch (at own expense), visit the majestic Nohkalikai Waterfall, plunging dramatically from a cliff and ranking among the tallest waterfalls in India. Later, admire the scenic Seven Sisters Falls, also known as Mawsmai Falls, cascading beautifully against green cliffs.

Day 5: Back to the Hills – Cherrapunjee to Shillong

After breakfast, check out and return to Shillong. Post lunch (at own expense), enjoy Shillong’s key attractions beginning with the insightful Don Bosco Museum, which showcases the art, attire, and traditions of Northeast India’s tribes.
Continue to Shillong Peak, the highest point in the city, offering panoramic views of Shillong, surrounding hills, and even Bangladesh on clear days. End sightseeing at the picturesque Elephant Falls, a graceful three-tier cascade. Evening is free for local market visits and souvenir shopping.

Day 6: Lakes & Rivers – Shillong to Guwahati

After breakfast, check out and drive back to Guwahati. En route, stop at the scenic Umiam Lake, a vast man-made lake surrounded by forested hills. Guests may enjoy the views or optional boating (at additional cost).
By evening, enjoy a relaxing Brahmaputra River cruise, offering views of historic ghats, temples, and river islands as the sun sets. Transfer to the hotel thereafter.

Day 7: Divine Farewell – Kamakhya Temple & Departure

After breakfast, check out and proceed to the revered Kamakhya Temple, one of the most sacred Shakti Peethas, located atop Nilachal Hill. After darshan, guests are transferred to the airport for their onward journey—returning home with hearts full of misty hills, gentle rivers, and soulful memories.
