Day 1

Night stay in Helsinki

Arrive in Helsinki

Embark on your Finland holiday from India, and for participants joining us from Delhi, the designated meeting point is Indira Gandhi Delhi International Airport Terminal 3, where you will commence your flight to Helsinki. Your tour manager will be present at Terminal 3 to welcome you. He/she will ensure a seamless check-in process at the airport, facilitating a smooth start to your travel experience.

After you arrive at Helsinki-Vantaa Airport, you’ll head straight to your hotel in Helsinki. In the evening, you’ll visit Senate Square, a popular spot in the city filled with history and culture. Around the square, you’ll see impressive buildings like the Government Palace and the University of Helsinki, all designed by the famous architect Carl Ludvig Engel. The square is often lively with events and markets, giving you a great taste of local life.

For dinner, you’ll enjoy a delicious meal at a nearby Indian restaurant. Afterward, you’ll head back to your hotel for a good night’s rest, ready for more adventures in Helsinki the next day.

Night stay in Helsinki

Helsinki Guided City Tour With Medieval Porvoo

After breakfast at your hotel, you’ll start an exciting day exploring Helsinki with a guided city tour. This tour will introduce you to the city’s main attractions and its rich history. Your first stop is the famous Helsinki Cathedral, located in Senate Square. This beautiful white church with its green dome and large steps is a key part of the city’s skyline. Inside, you’ll find a peaceful atmosphere that reflects traditional Finnish design, and outside, you can enjoy great views of the city.

Next, you’ll visit Temppeliaukio Church, also called the Rock Church. This amazing building is carved right into solid rock and features rough stone walls and a copper dome. The unique design and great acoustics make it a must-see spot.

After that, you’ll head to the charming town of Porvoo for a two-hour visit. Porvoo is one of Finland’s oldest towns, known for its medieval architecture, narrow streets, and colorful wooden houses along the river. Its historic charm makes it a delightful place to explore.

Back in Helsinki, you’ll visit the National Urban Park, a large green space that highlights the city’s natural beauty. It’s a great place to relax, with walking paths, forests, and lakes, offering a peaceful retreat within the city.

Night stay in Ivalo

Travel to Ivalo - Enjoy stay in a Glass Igloo at Kakslauttanen - Northern Lights Hunting

After breakfast, you’ll check out of your hotel in Helsinki and head to the airport for a domestic flight to Ivalo.

On landing at Ivalo, you will proceed to the magical Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, located in the heart of Finnish Lapland. This beautiful resort is known for its stunning nature and unique places to stay. Once you arrive, you’ll check in and settle into your room. Enjoy lunch will be on your own. Later, you can visit the Kakslauttanen Planetarium to watch a 30-minute film about the Northern Lights in their 180-degree dome.

In the evening, you’ll enjoy a delicious meal at the resort’s restaurant, where the cozy Arctic atmosphere makes dinner extra special. Afterward, get ready for an unforgettable experience: viewing the Northern Lights (depending on the weather). The excitement doesn’t stop there! You’ll go on a Northern Lights Hunting tour by bus, with a guide taking you to the best spots to see this amazing light show in the sky. The resort’s location is perfect for watching the Northern Lights, thanks to its clear skies and low light pollution.

For the night, you’ll stay in a Glass Igloo, a one-of-a-kind accommodation where you can watch the Northern Lights (weather permitting) right from your bed. Sleeping under the Arctic sky is a magical experience you won’t forget.

Night stay in Rovaniemi

Travel to Rovaniemi. Visit the fascinating Arktikum Museum

After breakfast and saying goodbye to your Igloo Resort, it’s time to hit the road for Rovaniemi, the vibrant capital of Finnish Lapland! Get ready for an exciting 4-hour journey through some of Finland’s most breathtaking landscapes. Rovaniemi, known as the gateway to the Arctic, is where modern life blends with the rich traditions of Lappish culture.

Once you arrive, the adventure continues with a visit to the fascinating Arktikum Museum. You’ll dive into the captivating history, culture, and environment of the Arctic, with cool exhibits on the Sami people, Arctic wildlife, and the impact of climate change on this icy wonderland.

After soaking up all that knowledge, you’ll indulge in a delicious meal at an Indian restaurant before heading to your cozy hotel in Rovaniemi. Get ready to relax and recharge—more magical Arctic adventures await!

Night stay in Rovaniemi

Visit Rauna Wildlife Zoo or The Polar Ice Breaker Cruise (Optional). Go hunting Northern Lights in the night

Your first stop is the Ranua Wildlife Park, a renowned zoo where you’ll encounter fascinating Arctic and Nordic animals like polar bears, lynxes, and reindeer. The park’s well-designed habitats allow you to experience the wildlife up close, as if you’re stepping right into their natural world.

Optional Adventure: If the zoo isn’t your thing, you can opt for the thrilling Polar Icebreaker Cruise (available from January to mid-March for an additional cost). This 3-hour cruise takes you through the frozen waters of the Bothnian Sea, where you’ll witness the ship’s mighty ice-breaking power. You’ll also get a behind-the-scenes tour, exploring everything from the engine rooms to the captain’s bridge!

Night stay in Rovaniemi

Santa Clause Village Excursion - Enjoy Husky Farm & Safari

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll hop on your coach and head out for a magical guided tour of Santa Claus Village! Nestled right on the Arctic Circle, this enchanting place lets you experience the Christmas spirit all year long. During your two-hour tour, you’ll explore the charming village, visit Santa’s very own post office (where letters from children all over the world arrive!), and even cross the iconic Arctic Circle line—don’t forget to snap a photo!

In the afternoon, the adventure continues at a Husky Farm. Here, you’ll dive into the traditional Lappish way of life and learn all about how reindeer and huskies are central to Arctic culture. You’ll get to meet these amazing animals up close and enjoy an exhilarating Husky Safari, where you’ll be whisked away on a sled ride pulled by a team of enthusiastic huskies. Return flight to India

Finally, this incredible vacation concludes. Following breakfast, transfer to the airport where your tour manager will assist you through the immigration and boarding procedures. Upon arrival in Delhi, the Senior Holidays Tour manager will facilitate a seamless baggage collection. Terms of Booking

  • A deposit of INR 25,000 per person is required to secure your booking.
  • The deposit is fully refundable only if your visa application is not approved.
  • Upon receiving your travel visa, you are obligated to pay the remaining balance immediately.
  • Failure to pay the full amount after obtaining your visa may result in the cancellation of your booking, with the company retaining any amounts paid.
  • It is your responsibility to provide all necessary documentation for the visa application.
  • Your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the date of departure.

Please note: The decision to issue a visa is entirely up to the Embassy, and Seniorholidays has no control over this. We cannot be held responsible for any financial loss if your visa is not granted.

Tour Cancellation Terms:

If SeniorHolidays cancels this particular tour, we promise to refund 100% of the amount you’ve paid, up to the time of cancellation.

However, if you decide to cancel your participation in the tour, SeniorHolidays will help you get a refund for the amount you’ve already paid, minus any third-party fees. You can also choose to apply that amount toward a future holiday booking with us at your convenience, without any obligation, based on the cancellation terms below:

  • Cancellations made 30 days prior to travel incur a charge of 10% of the tour value.
  • Cancellations made within 15 to 29 days of travel incur a charge of 50% of the tour value.
  • Cancellations made within 14 days of travel are non-refundable.

Policy regarding Flight Bookings

  • The price of the quoted tour package includes the cost of the flight ticket, which was calculated at the time this tour program was marketed. However, please note that you will be required to pay the actual fare applicable on the day you initiate your tour booking, after you have received your necessary travel visa. This means that the final flight fare may vary depending on the rates at the time of booking.
  • As a policy, flight tickets are booked only after you have received your travel visa.
  • As a policy we book Non-refundable flight tickets in Economy Class – unless you specify other preferences.
  • Payment for flight bookings must be made in full in advance and is non-refundable once the tickets are issued.
