About this tour

Egypt, a country linking northeast Africa with the Middle East, dates to the time of the pharaohs. Millennia-old monuments sit along the fertile Nile River Valley, including Giza’s colossal Pyramids and Great Sphinx as well as Luxor’s hieroglyph-lined Karnak Temple and Valley of the Kings tombs. The capital, Cairo, is home to Ottoman landmarks like Muhammad Ali Mosque and the Egyptian Museum, a trove of antiquities. The River Nile Cruises – highlight of this trip, is one of the best ways to see Egypt and the relics of its ancient past. Cruising between Luxor and Aswan will give you time to relax and take in the scenery of the Nile Valley while enjoying daily tours from your Nile Cruise to some of the most impressive Ancient Egyptian temples.

Your guide will pick you up from your Cruise in Aswan and drive to Abu Simbel – one the most famous temples – The Great and Small temples – of King Ramses II and his wife Queen Nefertari. The most spectacular aspect of this temple is its setting in the solid rock above the banks of the Nile River. The complex is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the “Nubian Monuments,” which run from Abu Simbel downriver to Philae near Aswan. It is believed that the axis of the temple was positioned by the ancient Egyptian architects in such a way that on October 22 and February 22, the rays of the sun would penetrate the sanctuary and illuminate the sculptures on the back wall, except for the statue of Ptah, the god connected with the Underworld, who always remained in the dark.

Return back to your cruise and set sail towards Luxor. On your way you will visit two famous temples of Kom Ombo and Edfu Temples. While you are cruising northwards, relax and enjoy on the top decks.
